The Video Head Project was inspired by the amazing art project called [http://www.muratnkonar.com/id/drumhead/ifyouins... Drum Head by Murat Konar]. In a attempt to take it to the next step, the Video Head will have multiple mouth and eye expressions in order to display a wider range of emotions and interactions with a virtual reality glove as the input. The foam head gives the image an eerie lifelike 3-d appearance.
A Java program reads the position of the P5 Virtual Reality Glove. If the hand is raised, the video is looped to a portion in which the head looks up. Move the hand to the right, and the head looks right. In addition, a text to speech synthesizer speaks “Up!”, “Right!”, etc in conjunction with the hand movements.
This project might be useful for a Haunted House in which you desire the eerie head to have some limited interactions based upon external inputs.
