Video13 is an alphanumeric video interface with a serial input, based on the Atmel AVR ATtiny13.
Video13 is an alphanumeric video interface with a serial input. It was originally published in Circuit Cellar #195 (Oct 2006, p. 12). I used an Atmel AVR (the ATtiiny13) with all of 8 pins, 1K of Flash memory and 64 uni-bytes of RAM to generate NTSC video on mono-glorious black & white. It displays 6 lines of 10 characters of UPPER case only text. It supports ye old teletype-like commands like carriage return, line feed and clear screen as well as saving and restoring the contents of the screen to the on-board EEPROM memory. It receives characters at a blazing 9600 bits per second.
